What is a counselling course?
The course is adapted to you and your situation
All counselling courses in accordance with Jobcenter Copenhagen are individually designed to suit your situation and needs. This typically happens on the first day attending the course.
You will receive the practical details via Digital Post and 'My Plan'
Before the course you will receive more details about the course as well as meeting time and place including other useful information in 'My Plan' on jobnet.dk and via Digital Post.
Activities online and physical attendance
The course itself can consist of a mix of activities such as workshops, individual sparring, live streams, and video meetings. You can expect that at least 1/3 of the activities will be with physical attendance, regardless of which course you are registered in.
Time to use the new tools on your own
Throughout the course, you will have plenty of time to work on your own with your job search along with all the new tools you receive during the course.
Can I start in an internship, wage subsidy or course in connection with a counselling course?
If you make an agreement with the Jobcenter about starting an internship, wage subsidy or a course from the regional educational funding pool (Positivlisten) during your counselling course, the counselling course will not continue.
If your counselling course started before January 1st 2023 it will come down to an individual assessment if the counselling course will end or continue after you finish your internship, wage subsidy or course.
For those you who are registered in New Directions
If you agree with the Jobcenter on internships, wage subsidies or a course during 'New Directions' course, the course will normally be interrupted.
When the internship, wage subsidy or course is completed, you will typically be enrolled in a new 'New Directions' course.
Can I participate in other activities during a counselling course?
You are always welcome to participate in other activities relevant to your job search, even if they are not approved by the Jobcenter. However, it is under the condition that you participate in all the planned activities in your course.
I work part-time. Am I still obligated to participate in a counselling course?
If you have a part-time job of more than 20 hours per week, you may be exempt from the requirement to participate in the counselling courses. If your part-time job is less than 20 hours a week, we will of course take this into account when we jointly plan your course.
What do I do if I'm going to a job interview or work during a counselling course?
If you are going to a job interview or to work, it is always valid reason to cancel an activity agreed with the Jobcenter.
Please contact the Jobcenter and the supplier of your counselling course to cancel.
Can I go on holiday during a counselling session?
If you wish to take a holiday during the course, you can apply to the Jobcenter for this.
